Career Opportunities at Sasol: Project Manager – Single point accountable person to deliver on agreed project objectives.

To realise the business intent of a project by leading, managing, facilitating and coordinating multi-disciplinary resources across the project management model, through from identify and assess phases to close-out.

FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS

  • Develop and implementation of project execution strategies & plans
  • Ensure overall project compliance to execution plan (SHE, Quality, Cost & Schedule)
  • Ensure overall project compliance to legal and corporate governance and procedures
  • Develop project cost and schedule position through estimates and planning and present for gate approval.
  • Ensure the latest project controls procedures are applied to all projects. Ensure integrated risk management is effectively done
  • Ensure comprehensive change management is done.
  • Ensure project progress are tracked using an integrated control base and progress reported to project governance and client Steercom meetings
  • Ensure complete and up to date project administration
  • Manage SHERQ requirements on projects; Manage project within BD&I, PMBOK, NEC3, boundaries
  • Accountable to deliver on all 10 knowledge areas as described in Project Management

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

  • University Bachelor’s Degree Engineering
  • Masters in Project Management or Masters in Engineering Management (wish)

Experience:

  • Typically 10 Years Relevant Experience
  • Working experience in capital project delivery, with specific knowledge / experience in:
  • front end, basic & detail engineering;  project controls; construction management & supply chain

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Leadership

  • Understand the total value chain of the business on projects
  • Effectively lead the project team to deliver on team objectives
  • Alignment across team members, contractors, suppliers, plant owner, internal & external stakeholders & interfaces
  • Understand client governance requirements and prepare projects for approval meeting these requirements in the stage/gate model

Functional / Technical

  • Management of internal and external stakeholders / supplier relationships and contracts.
  • Manage different contracting strategies, i.e. LSTK, EPC, EPCm, Alliances etc.
  • Demonstrate familiarity and knowledge of the NEC
  • Familiar with Sasol’s new EC model (wish)
