Ghana Police Claims Kidnapped Canadians Suspect Are All Nigerians, Kidnapped Canadians in Ghana Rescued; Suspects Arrested.
MyNewsGh can solely report that, according to a police source in Kumasi, the two Canadians abducted last week were saved.
They were supposedly saved in a Kumasi suburb on Wednesday morning by a police SWAT team that disclosed our source.
It is collected that the vehicle driver who is a mechanic and one other person used for the kidnapping has since been arrested and assists the security agencies in unraveling the identity of the others.
Our source shows that both victims are secure. It would be recalled that last week in Kumasi’s Ashanti Regional Capital, two Canadians aged 19 and 20 respectively were abducted.
In a statement signed by ACP Director of Public Affairs David Klu, the Ghana Police Service revealed that on June 4, 2019, the incident took place at Ahodwo, Kumasi Royal Golf Club, at 8.25pm.
As a consequence, Canadian nationals in Ghana have been alerted to the country’s violent crimes, including armed robbery and kidnapping, and urged that no signs of riches be shown.
